Development Associate
Salary Range: $31,000 $33,000, with full medical benefits
Reports to: Executive Director
Supervises: Part Time Development Assistant and volunteers
Schedule: Full time exempt, includes some weekends and evenings
MISSION
Bayshore Christian Ministries equips East-of-Bayshore youth to grow spiritually, gain life skills
and develop as leaders so that they have hope and a future.
Summary:
The Development Associate is primarily responsible for administrative support to fundraising campaigns,
planning events throughout the year, and producing and editing printed and online communications.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES will include but not be limited to
Support Fundraising Campaigns
Conceptualize design and content for campaign materials
Organize logistics for annual pledge renewal, summer sponsorship and other fundraising campaigns
Coordinate the printing and mailing of the Fund Request Letter and Thank You campaigns
Give administrative support to Major Gifts teams
Make phone calls to donors requesting donation gifts and pledges (during appropriate campaigns)
Event Planning
Coordinate all aspects of annual fundraising banquet
Support hosts of dessert events and house parties
Support PR/Communications Efforts
Plan communication strategies, develop language around vision, mission and programs
Gather inspirational stories and operations information from program managers and executive staff
Coordinate photography to ensure that recent photos are available for each program and event
Edit all printed and online media before publication
Manage press releases and be point of contact for media
Grant Writing
Research appropriate grants to pursue, organize applications throughout the fiscal year
Supervise assistant and volunteers through grant writing process, review and edit Letters
of Intent, and applications. Ensure timely submission of all materials
Complete mid-year and final reports as required
Administrative Support
Daily processing of gift acknowledgements
Compile monthly development report
Update biographical and contact information in donor software system
Manage any administrative, marketing, and website volunteers
Update development manual
Attend monthly development training seminars
REQUIRED Qualifications
Agreement with statement of faith and commitment to the mission of BCM
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Self-motivated, task-oriented and able to manage multiple projects
Proven ability to work independently with minimal direction
College Degree
PREFERRED Qualifications
Desire to pursue a career in development or non-profit management
Strong leadership skills and experience leading individuals
Experience with fund raising software, especially Exceed
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
