Programs

BCM serves youth in grades 1-12. We offer programs for elementary age students in grades 1-5, and programs for Jr. and Sr. High students in grades 6-12. In each age range, we offer year-round programs that emphasize Christian teaching and formation, after-school academic programs, and summer academic/recreational programs. In addition, BCM also offers two internship opportunities for college students

Bible Clubs
Year-round spiritual development for 2nd through 5th grades. Youth involved learn Bible stories, good character and behavior, and are introduced to leadership skills.

StreetWorkz & Youth of Truth
Spiritual development for Middle School (6th - 8th grade) and High School (9th - 12th grade) students including leadership development, Biblical and ethical lessons,values training and opportunities for community service.

KidSmart
Academic support for 1st through 5th grades focusing on reading, writing and thinking skills. Creative writing, art, other workshops and one-on-one tutoring balance the daily program.

TeenWorks
Academic program for 6th through 8th grades including homework assistance, one-on-one tutoring, life skills workshops, job training, college and career preparation.

Scholarships
BCM gives out scholarships to high school seniors entering either a 2-year or 4-year institution. This program also walks the student through scholarship and grant applications and financial assistance programs.

SAIL  Summer Adventures in Learning
An intensive summer academic program that complements KidSmart. The program includes morning academic training, afternoon life skills workshops and weekly recreational trips.

SummerWorks

This program focuses on opportunities for teens. In addition to continued academic achievement, they gain basic job experience and learn valuable skills of responsibility, time and money management. Trips to local colleges and universities, as well as Bay Area businesses and industries, provide hands-on opportunities – an integral part of this experience.

Internships for Christian Leaders
Each summer, college students from all over the U.S. spend 9 weeks immersed in urban ministry, living and working in the East Palo Alto community. Interns will run BCM’s two summer academic/recreational programs. In addition, all interns receive ongoing training in urban ministry and leadership development from veteran urban ministry leaders.
